Includes Free Shipping. Time-Sert 3700 universal thread insert repair kit used to install steel inserts for M11x2.00 applications. See partial list below. *Note - If repairing smaller M8x1.25 Head Bolt threads on LS engines use the 1812CORE-PLATE in addition to the 3700 kit for M11x2.0. Time Sert 3700 for first time repairs for Avalanche, Colorado, Express, Corvette, Suburban, Silverado, Tahoe, Trailblazer. For those models from around 2004 and up, engines include many of the 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0's (see partial listing below). If doing a second time repair after a temporary type Helicoil kit has failed making the hole bigger use the 3700BS.

Note that this kit uses 112030 inserts which 10 are included. Here's the link for more 112030 inserts. They are for first time repairs (holes that have not been repaired previously). Since this is a universal kit, the instructions must be followed because of several applications are covered. Marking the depth on the drill tap and driver is very important. The adjustable collar makes the universal kit work with different head bolt hole depths.

Time Sert kits are compatible with both aluminum and cast iron blocks. LS engines were manufactured with both types of blocks, with high-performance LS engines like the LS1, LS6, and LS7 typically featuring aluminum blocks, while truck and SUV applications such as the LQ4 and LQ9 typically used cast iron blocks.

This is a list of some vehicles that use M11x2.0 head bolts. If your engine has M8 bolts along with M11's, then this kit is the correct kit. If the M8's are stripped see the 1812CORE-PLATE Verify your size prior to ordering.

Question - What head bolt thread repair kit do I need for my 2006 Corvette with a 6.0 Liter engine?

Answer - If the holes have never been repaired before like with a helicoil or some other brand thread repair kit, you can use the Time Sert 3700. If there has been a previous repair, you would need the Time Sert 3700BS Double Oversize Kit. These are both universal kits which allows them to be used on different depth holes as long as your bolt thread size is M11x2.0.

    Excellent thread insert kit

    This kit worked quite well on my LH6 LS engine. Did 19 inserts (one was done previously) and while it take some time, the kit works well and is easy to repeat on multiple repairs.

    Tool works great. No problems from it. The kit comes with bolts but none are the right length to tighten down the plate. You’ll have to find washers to stack up to get it bolted down. Shipping from this company is very slow. From Wise: Thanks for reviewing. The 3700 kit is a universal kit which means it will work for M11x2.0 on multiple applications. So it's possible washers may be needed if the bolts are too long. We typically ship items out within 24 hours (same day usually if placed early enough). The manufacturer did recently have this on backorder. So it's quite possible it was shipped later than usual due to that. We apologize for any delay.

    Great tool that saved an LS3 block from scrap

    Great tool and easy to use. Was a bit timid at first and took my time on each hole to be repaired. Repaired 4 holes total in one block, by the 4th one I had it done in less than 5 min. All torqued up to spec with out any doubt that the insert would fail. Engine is up and running now. Wise was quick to ship with good notifications after order was placed, tool arrived on time and in great condition.

    Worked as described. From Wise: Thanks for the feedback. This kit has been popular lately for LS engines with stripped head bolts. Some aluminum and some cast iron. Most of the thread failures however, are from the blocks that are made from aluminum.
