Description
3" Rescue Bit set including 1/8", 3/16", 1/4" Drill Points on one end and Reamer Ends on the other. One end of each bit has a drill point and the other end has a reamer point. Rescue Bits have a very hard metal compound and are typically used for drilling into tooling that normally cannot be drilled, like broken EZ Outs, broken bolts, drill bits, thread taps. Use in a drill or die grinder. The 1/8" Collet is included to allow use of the 1/8" bit in a die grinder.
The drill point ends are used for drilling and cutting out the hardened metal and the reaming end is designed to finish the task by cutting and reaming the remainder portion of the screw extractor, tap, bolt etc. When close to exiting the broken extractor, tap, bolt etc., take the bit out and flip it over to the reaming end to finish removing. Using the Rescue Bit in this manner will help to save the life of the Rescue Bit.
Rescue Bit offers a much lower cost alternative for removing broken tooling compared to metal disintegration. Rescue bits as well as reamers, drill bits and taps etc are consumable items. As such they carry no warranty expressed or implied. *Note - The correct size die grinder collet (die grinder adapter) is required to accept the different size bits. It Works
We recently bought a Rescue Bit to remove a broken easy out on a 1982 Chevy Berlinetta small block. We had tried everything else we could think of, or that someone recommended, but had no luck. As a last resort, we did a Google search and found the Rescue Bit. Following the instructions exactly, we were able to get the broken piece out. Talk about happy! It saved us a lot of money. Worth every penny!

RESCUE BIT MULTI-PACK RB8 REAMER SET 3-PACK WITH 1/8" COLLET
Worked great just as advertised, used smaller size to start a bowl, stepped up a size and was in 10 sec. I would recommend.

Rescue bits
Bought as a set and managed to break the tips on all three right off the bat drilling out a 1/8 broken bit. Despite 40 yrs experience as a repairman they snapped the carbides as soon as they contacted the drill bit at slow speed. Bit itself is ok as is reamer but the welded sections snapped right off. From Wise: Sorry to hear you were unsuccessful. Thanks for the review. This may help others. The manufacturer says to use a smaller Rescue Bit than whatever you are drilling out so that you can implement the "rounding" motion. This helps prevent binding and breaking. I would also start with the reamer end, to remove burrs which may cause snagging and breaking of the small cutting blades on the more aggressive drill point side. We have repeat customers for this item, best results are achieved when following the tips provided.

Kryptonite for hardened metals
Salt Water Marine Mechanic for 43 years ... Where the heck was this tool when I really needed it?! These eat broken "salted in" bolts, taps, and ez-outs ALIVE!! Just use them the way they're meant to be used, and they won't break.

Didn't last
I purchased the pack of 3 Rescue bits. I started with the small one (1/8) and in 5 seconds it broke. I then moved to the larger one (3/16) it cut some, then the end with the two blades made a hole and it chipped. I was able to use the other side to finish. It worked, but not convinced it was the best value. From Wise: Thanks for the feedback. We recommend starting off with the reamer end to remove any burrs that may cause the more aggressive cutting blades on the drill point end to "catch" and break. Then switch to the drill point side. They do have a little learning curve, however, Rescue Bits are still the best option for drilling out things that normally cannot be drilled. Some machine shops are repeat customers.

It Worked
Just wanted to say thanks, these bits worked great to remove an EZ Out that broke inside of a broken 5/16x18 stud in a 1” blind hole at the end of a crankshaft.

Must Have!
No really this is a must have. Drilled through a broken easy out that broke when extracting a broken exhaust manifold bolt. Was gonna have to remove the head, but the Rescue Bit really worked!
