Winn Tools W-900-0199 Broken Glow Plug Remover set is a specialty kit designed for removing broken glow plugs. Used to remove broken glow plugs right over the fender without removal of the cylinder head. The kit comes with 1/4” tap for making threads into the center shell of the glow plug to allow puller screw to be installed. It also has an M8x1.0 thread tap and an M10x1.0 tap used for cleaning up (or chasing) the threads in the head for the glow plug. The tools in this kit are a great time saver because it's used to help prevent the need of removing the cylinder head to extract a broken injector. *Note this kit is designed for European models like VW's and Sprinters, however some of our customer's have reported that they have used this kit successfully on the Duramax Diesel as well.

Duramax Glow Plug
Very nice kit, but not enough info., for the duramax. Enden with two drill bit broken and had to order new bit, cost me $100.00cdn. Too much expensive. Could not finish my job, still waiting for the new drill, had to finish my job with drilling bigger holes and use helicoil to install my glow plug. Cost me $400.00cdn. plus $100.00cdn. for new drill bit. The kit look like new, didn't use it, it's for sale, make me an offer! From Wise: Sorry to hear you were unsuccessful using the kit. It does take a skilled technician that has experience in improvising a bit since the kit is designed originally for the Sprinter. We have had many techs able to use this kit successfully. Many diesel shops buy new bits and puller screws and rave on how great the kit is. They understand that the drill bits and puller screws are a wear item. No substitute for an experienced tech. Tools are only as good as the person using them.

Works on Duramax but must improvise !
We were able to use this kit to successfully remove a broken glow plug on a duramax. This kit is not designed for a duramax. Wise nicely sends three extra pieces just for the duramax, but the puller has to be improvised. It can be done, but don't buy expecting the plug to come out without a fight on a duramax. From Wise: Yes, that is correct. As stated in the product description "*Note this kit is designed for European models like VW's and Sprinters, however some of our customer's have reported that they have used this kit successfully on the Duramax Diesel as well." This kit is made for a Sprinter, however an experienced tech that knows how to improvise can use this kit successfully on Duramax saving the removal of the head as GM recommends.

Great tool!
Was working on a sprinter for another issue , on road test the check engine light comes on. Glow plug code. Changed 3 of them all good until 4th one. Snap, the head twists and it's stuck in the head. Used tool with instructions, came right out even with out the puller! Saved me from taking the head off!

Well Worth Investment Worked Geat for DURAMAX
First time use was nerve racking not for weekend mechanic some experience goes a long way. Worked exactly like described, saved me money and time, great tool. I would recommend this tool.

Worked great for Duramax!
2006 Duramax glow plug broke didnt want to remove head I ordered kit with great hope. It worked amazing a little hesitant for first one but 100% repair I'm sure next one will go smoother. Not for weekend mechanic. I would recommend this tool for anyone with some mechanical experience.

The tool worked flawlessly, we were able to remove the broken glow plug without any issues even after the glow plug broke in half the first time we used it.

Worked for Duramax!
I purchased this broken glowplug kit knowing that it's really made for the Sprinter, but I was able to make it work for my customer's Duramax, without pulling the cylinder head. You have to space the puller, but if you're mechanically inclined it can be done. Note - this is not a weekend mechanic's job! A little more experience goes a ling way.

Great kit
Kit was a huge time saver however it would be nice if they would include a few spare drill bits for that price.
