*Please note that the progress of the depth that the reamer has reached should be closely monitored. In the video at around 7:08, we mention that the tool will not go but so far because of the collar; While this is true in most cases, we advise to be careful and stop once the counter-bore (the widest portion) of the reamer has been reached. An Electrician Doing Mechanic Work
A shop repaired one spark plug hole for me and charged $700. They said removal of the intake was necessary. It blew out after 2 months. I found The Time Sert 5600 online. It worked great. It was for the #5 cylinder. Great laminated instructions. This was on a 2008 E350 van. I also have 2004 E250 van and it blew #3 out a week after purchasing the 5600. Again, it worked great but sure is a bear working on vans I would highly recommend this kit to anyone, the quality of the kit is great. Thanks again, also customer service is A+

Great product, easy to use, fantastic customer service
I purchased the 5600 hoping I would be able to salvage a blown Ford Triton V-10 spark plug hole that I had previously repaired with a Napa Sav-A-Thread. Wish now that I had never seen the cheapo Napa insert! Take the time to repair this Ford created problem right the first time with Time Sert inserts. With the quality Time Sert tools, you can easily do this repair without removing the head, and solve this Ford created problem permanently. Easy to work with, high quality tools, a little pricey, but not nearly as much time and money as replacing the heads... and I should know... When Napa insert let loose, it allowed compression to blow through between the insert threads and the head, eroding the head in one spot so badly that, unfortunately, even the Triple Oversized insert couldn't repair it. Now I have no choice but to replace the head. That is not the norm though, typically. Mine was that rare exception that just went too far south... in fact, Dennis @ Wise Tools said he had never yet seen one that it couldn't repair. But if I had put in a Time Sert right from the start, it never would have failed again. Inspection camera I bought to help do the repair revealed the excessive damage after I had already purchased the 5600 kit. Highly recommend having one of those too, even just to make sure you get all the debris out of the cylinder. The Time Sert inserts bottom inside threads get cold rolled AFTER it is set in place full depth in the hole, which expands the bottom end of the insert out tightly against the head, sealing the two together so it can't leak compression and it can't break loose. By far the BEST thread repair available. The 389-4000 Valve Closed Detector is a great tool too... saves you having to take the valve cover off to see if the valves are fully closed. Wise Tools provided fantastic customer support, and I very highly recommend both them and the Time Sert inserts. Quality all the way around, and the videos that Dennis has put up are great too! 10 of 10 stars on all counts!

Permanently Repairs Parts Store Patch Jobs!
Based on parts guy recommendation, used a Dorman 42025 and it lasted 3 months. Used a Heli Coil Save -A-Thread because it was a little bigger than the Dorman kit - it lasted 2 weeks. The Time Sert 5600 is by far the best design. Obvious that the engineering and manufacturing is superior to anything else I found. The large size on the outside measurement makes this work even though I've had two parts store patch kits fail!

TIME-SERT is da BOMB!
Thought after the parts store insert blew out I had to buy a new head. Found the Time Sert 5600 triple o-size kit. Great kit, simple to use. Also purchased a cheap video inspection camera (WST-WIC-1269CRTN) on this site to make sure all the metal was out of the cylinder. Made feel a lot better about finishing the install. Would have given it a 5 star rating if it would have came with the 389-4000 leak down valve. Over all though, TIME-SERT is da bomb.

5.4 Triton Spark Plug Rescue
I have 1999 Ford Expedition with the notorious spark plug problem. However, this time a spark plug that had repaired before failed. It only had 100,000 miles on the repair :). The vehicle has a total of 215,000 miles total on it. The Time-SERT 5600 was a life saver for the Expedition, literally. If didn't work I was going to salvage the rig. The 5600 was easy to use. It took about only 2 hours for an amateur to install. I have put on several thousand miles since the repair.

Save-A-Thred almost trashed my head!
Used the Time Sert 5600 to fix it right, after a Save-A-Thred blew back out after just two frickin months. The tool kit works great, you can really tell quality when you're using it yourself. The Calvan 389-4000 that I bought separately also made the job easier, because I didn't have to pull the valve cover. Thankful that the Sav-A-Thred fiasco didn't ruin my head.

Product worked as advertised on my 5.4 Triton heads in a 98 Ford F250. Saved me the removal of the heads... now I can start on the leaking exhaust gaskets!!

Work truck on the Road Again
Worked great! After 3 failed thread serts in the same cylinder in my 2000 Ford E350 van, the Time Sert worked so well I thought we were doing something wrong.Very nice quality tool set.Can't imagine a pro shop doing this in a van though. Thanks for the help Dennis.
