TIME-SERT 4160 Honda Head Bolt Thread Repair Kit M10x1.25mm

Includes Free Shipping. The TIME-SERT 4160 head bolt thread repair kit is a head bolt thread kit that can be used on many Honda automobile engines that use the common size 10 millimeter by 1.25 millimeter head bolt size. If your vehicle is not listed below and an M10 by 1.25mm head bolt thread repair kit is needed, see the universal kit part number 6250. Both the 4160 and the 6250 are for a "first time" repairs which means there has never had a repair insert of any kind (i.e. like a Heli Coil) installed previously. When doing a 2nd repair when a Helicoil has failed an oversize kit is required and which is the 6250BS. The "BS" on the end of the number is for Big Sert (Time Sert's designation for oversize). The BIG SERT still accepts the same original size head bolts. The O.D. is the only dimension that is larger. 

We have a partial application list below. *Notice, there is one hole in the block that may NOT be as deep as the others. A stop collar is included to be used on that particular hole to prevent over-drilling. We recommend installing all ten inserts on Honda's while the head is off to eliminate any pulled threads when installing the head bolts and torquing to the maufacturer's specifications (torque specs). This also eliminates weak links that the remaining aluminum threads would end up being, that could possibly fail shortly after the car is back on the road. Therefore it's recommended to upgrade to the much stronger tensil strength steel, bushing type inserts (part number 10129) that are included in the Time-Sert 4160 head bolt thread repair kit. *Note TTY head bolts should be replaced as per service manual. Reusing stretched head bolts can cause repeat thread and/or head gasket failure.
