Description

Time-Sert oil drain plug repair kit for aluminum pans with standard sae 1/2" by 20 thread pitch size plugs. This kit is a must for any repair shops that perform oil changes. One aluminum drain plug thread repair can save hundreds of dollars! This kit not only restores the oil pan (or housing) back to it's original 1/2"-20 thread size... it makes it STRONGER! This kit part number 0122A is commonly used on Ford's and Harley's. Why replace an oil pan/housing for around $500 when this repair can be done in place for a a fraction of the cost? Are aluminum threads stronger than the steel threads? Of course not, that's why TIME-SERT thread inserts are a better option than replacing an aluminum oil pan/housing. What makes Time Sert so different? The unique installation driver finishes the bottom threads (called cold rolling), expanding and locking the insert in from the bottom. No other competitive brand does this. Once the repair is done the original size drain plug can be used. See the video link above to see the basic use of a Time Sert kit demonstrated.

Timesert is recommended by leading manufacturers.

    Didn't remove the pan!

Posted by Jeff F on 21st May 2022

Just wanted to thank you for the help. The kit came in and I was able to do the job without removing the oil pan on the 1998 harley road king. The tools were perfect. Very sharp and easy to use with a 10 point wrench. No drill. (No room) Took some time to get the off-set done with just a 10 point wrench, but it worked. Its rare these days to find a quality tool. So much junk coming from china. The job is done! Thanks again.

I like the design over-all good kit. Worked great, plug tightens up nicely with confidence.
