Description

The Lisle 48300 has been redesigned for newer 3.5L and 3.6L GM engines. It also works on 2.8L, 3.1L and 3.4L GM V6 engines. *Note the valve covers may need to be removed to use this updated tool. The 48300 quickly removes push rods so you can replace the intake gasket (the intake gasket weaves behind some bolts). There's no need to loosen and retighten the rocker arm bolts, which saves wear. Many times the aluminum threads in the head for the rocker arm bolt will strip because of so much stress in addition to the motion of loosening and tightening the bolt. By using this tool, thread wear is eliminated because there's no need to work the bolt back and forth. The tool pivots the rocker arm to compress the valve spring and free the push rod for removal.

More Info
If your rocker arm bolt threads are already stripped because this tool was not used, see the Time Sert 1812CORE M8x1.25 thread repair kit that can fix the threads instead of replacing the cylinder head. Ninety percent of these rocker arm bolts are M8x1.25, if you have the M10x1.5 use the Time Sert 1015CORE. Due to the enormous amount of stress that the threads must sustain, the Heli Coil brand is NOT recommended for this application. If a Heli Coil has already failed and the hole requires a second time repair, see the Time Sert 1812CORE BS thread repair kit, which is the oversize thread repair kit that accepts the original bolt.
