The 389-100 is a single 5.4L replacement sparkplug insert for the Calvan, Horizon Tools M14x1.25 Taper seat 38900 spark plug thread kit. Also works for the equivalent Blue Point FRT10 model sold by Snap On and SP389FC sold by Mac Tools. We've sold the Calvan kit's and inserts to repair Ford spark plug blowouts for years with great feedback! These Cal-Van inserts will last the lifetime of the engine. The 389-100 is equivalent to the Snap On/Blue Point FRT10-INS replacement insert. Snap On sells them for over $35 each. This is also the same spark plug insert for Mac Tools part number SP389FC thread repair kits. Same as Matco FTS389 inserts as well (same manufacturer). The Right Insert
Excellent product, very well made and just the thing to repair a blown spark plug hole. You need the kit to install them but it ends up better and stronger than the factory head.

Spark Plug Insert for Ford
2002 Ford F150, 4.6l with 285k miles, Cylinder #3 Watched several YouTube videos. Used locktite on threads and JB Weld on lip of insert as suggested by Ron Williams. Waited 24 hours and fired it up with no issues. Took it for a 200 mile trip a few days later. Feels solid.

I have put at least 100 if not more of this in and never had one to fail or blow out.

More threads for spark plug
If you watch the repair videos carefully using JB weld under "lip" of insert and proper locktite for threads. Insert provides multiple threads for spark plug unlike the original 4 threads in the factory cylinder head. Take your time. Am now a couple days for JB weld and loctite to set.
